Nondies have been knocked out of the Oxfordshire Cup by Home Counties League side Aston Rowant. Rowant batted first and reached 127-7 off their 20 overs with Miles top scoring with 40. Sanjay Vinjimmor with 3 wickets was the pick of the bowlers. In reply the Nondies batsmen found it hard going against the home attack on a slow wicket and finished on 98-7 with Morreck taking 3 wickets.

Nondies will entertain a Oxford United X1 for a 20/20 match at Bletchington on Sunday 12th July. The game will start at 4.00pm and will be followed by a barbeque. Watch this site for updates.

Nondies Results 27th June

1st XI: Nondies lost by 6 wickets against Childrey and Challow and slip to 4th in the table. Despite recovering from 15-3 to post 168-7 with Strong 60* and Mead 43 making important contributions, Challow eased home to win by 6 wickets with the  Australian Nick Meadows top scoring with 64 and Brad Jones 38.

In reality this was a comfortable win for Challow, as Nondies struggled to put together a defendable total against the visitors varied attack. Having lost the first 3 wickets so early, only Ian Meads brief counter attack before top edging a pull, threatened the bowlers early control. At 95-5 when Mukherjee was brilliantly run out, it was left to Mark Strong, supported but Jon Guthrie, to lead a counter attack that saw 90 runs added off the final 17 0vers. Challow oddly declined to recall the opening bowlers who had caused so many problems to the home batsmen and persevered with their pair of leg spinners. The feeling in the home dressing room was that this was a total they could defend if they could make early inroads into Challows strong batting line up. However, with 12 coming off the first over bowled by Leighton James and 50 on the board after only 8 overs, the writing was on the wall. Nondies retained a toe hold in the game when Challow lost their 4th wicket at 130 but were unable to part the 5th wicket pair who eased their way to the required total.

2nd X1: Nondies posted a massive 310 runs at Challow and Childrey but had to settle for a draw as the home team batted out , ending on 197-6. 86 from skipper Chris Day and a 52 for Rupert Taylor were the major scorers but there were also useful contributions from Anthony Benson 48*, Ed Petit- Mills 39 and Bruce Currie 31. A flat track combined with a lightning outfield provided a platform for the Nondies batsmen to completely dominate the bowling. In response, tight early bowling ensured that Challow were never in position to mount a realistic assault on the dauting target and despite George Franklands 4-44 they batted out comfortably for the draw.

3rd X1: Nondies lost their top of the table clash with Aston Rowant. An under powered attack let the visitors rack up 294-4 with Simon Lambourne scoring an unbeaten 151. Nondies were dismissed for 174, despite 54 from Mark Thompson as Morris took 4-39.

4th XI: Nondies suffered another reverse when Great Tew scored 216-9 after being invited to bat, Malcolm team's fallible catching again in evidence. A teatime shower then freshened up the wicket and Nondies were shot out for only 56.
